ISS Fan Club and Amsat UK report that April will be a great month for ISS SSTV activity. As ever, SSTV operation is dependent on other ISS mission priorities but is expected on Monday 2 April from 1505 to 1830 UTC and on Tuesday 3 April from 1415 to 1840 UTC. It is also expected to be active from April 11-14.

ISS SSTV transmissions are on 144.800MHz using wideband FM and they are expected to use the PD-120 SSTV format.

ISS signals are easy to receive, even using a simple 2m FM handheld. Ideally use a small beam such as the tape measure antenna. Decoding SSTV can be done using smartphone apps such as Robot36 and PC programs including HRD. There are SSTV programs from the Mac too, such as Multimode Cocoa.
